(The ref) told me that play is not dead when the whistle blows, the play is dead when he intends to blow the whistle, Phantoms coach John Stevens griped last night.
Why, just imagine something like that happening at the very highest level of minor league hockey, in the finals. Good thing it's the correct interpretation of the rule book.

Much of the discussion has focused on hypothetical situations, many of which will never see the light of day.
